Before training as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, Carol worked in the mental health field and social services, providing counselling and support to people undergoing such experiences as anxiety, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties and life transitions.  Carol is a member of the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (NRHP) and a fellow of the National Society of Hypnosis, Psychotherapy and Mindfulness (NSHP) abiding by their standards of ethics, training and professionalism which include regular supervision, and a demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development. 

 

She has trained in the major psychotherapeutic schools and paradigms including the psychoanalytic schools of Jung, Freud and Adler; Behaviourism; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Humanism of Carl Rogers and the Gestalt School.  This broad knowledge and practice base qualifies Carol to provide an integrative approach, drawing on the therapeutic theories and practice best suited to the individual’s needs and substantiated by scientific evidence of its effectiveness in practice.
